Prince William County has some of the state’s best Halloween attractions. There are several attractions that are perfect for the whole family! Take a look at some of our favorites.
If you do not like super scary Halloween attractions, try Burnside Farms! They have one of the area’s largest pumpkin and gourd selections in more than 50 different varieties. They also offer many fall plants, cider, and apples along with other produce for purchase. You can even pick your own flowers in one of their production fields. Take a fun Instagram picture in front of their straw bales or corn stalks and see what the fun is all about! Unfortunately, this patch is closed this year but they plan to be open in 2022.
Yankey Farms is the perfect pick for kids and adults who don’t like scary attractions. There is a variety of produce for you to pick from in the summer but in the fall they operate a pick your own pumpkin patch. This is one of the few Northern Virginian pumpkin patches where you can pick the pumpkin from the patch it is grown on! There are plenty of other fun activities to see and participate in on the farm. Their cow train and corn maze scavenger hunt are always a hit for families. Stop by Fridays from 4 AM to 6 PM, Saturdays from 10 AM to 6 PM, or Sundays from noon to 6 PM.
This choice may be for your older kids and braver adults. These woods are known for their twisting turns and interesting characters along the way. There are usually about 6 scenes you will find hidden deep in the haunted trees. Unfortunately, these scenes will not be shown this year. Instead of a walk-through haunt, they are showing a scenic display set on the high seas called the Ghost Fleet! Starting on October 11, you can view this display fit with animatronics, fog, sound, and other ghastly surprises on Friday and Saturday nights. Admission is free and they are collecting donations to benefit the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry.
