What To Do in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach has a lot to offer, even after COVID has turned the world upside down. There are plenty of things you can do in the area while keeping in good social distancing standards.

Beach Trips

Did you know that Virginia Beach has the longest-running pleasure beach in the world according to the Guinness Book of Records? From the Chesapeake Bay to the Oceanfront and Sandbridge, there are plenty of options to choose from if you want to be by the water. After September 7, you can even bring your dog!

Concerts

Usually, Virginia Beach has a wide range of concerts to choose from by the Oceanfront. This year, they have had to cut down on their live performances, but Chartway Federal Credit Union’s annual American Music Festival will happen virtually! Enjoy acts from Johnny Rzeznik from the Goo Goo Dolls, Bret Michaels, and many more! Learn more about the event HERE.

Marathons

Virginia Beach is home to many marathon-lovers because of the wide variety of races year-round. If you want something to get your heart pumping, join the Virtual Paw-ston Marathon. Grab your furry friend and register now to complete for the PAWston Marathon Uni-Doggy Finisher Medal. If your pup can’t keep up or you would prefer to run solo, consider participating in the 9/11 Memorial Virtual Run Walk. If you choose to contribute, the proceeds will benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and Tuesday’s Children.

Hiking

There are many hiking trails throughout Virginia Beach. First Landing State Park is the most-visited Virginia State Park and covers 20 miles of paths. Spanning the Northend area, their nine trails have a variety of landscape, length, and difficulty providing an option for everyone in the family! Pleasure House Point Natural Area features a lengthy beach trail along the Chesapeake Bay with many entrance points. Further down on the border to North Carolina, the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge holds several courses to view the local wildlife and ultimately leads to the Atlantic Ocean. If you would prefer a short walk at a famous Virginia Beach landmark, head to Mount Trashmore! Walk the loop that rounds the mountain, take your kids to the nearby playground, or even fly a kite at the top on a windy day.
