Fighting Hunger

Fighting Hunger

Our team members Carleci, Kirsten, and Brittini had a very rewarding experience on Wednesday, August 23rd volunteering at the “Rise Against Hunger” event at the Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach. They packaged 10,000 dehydrated meals that included soy, rice, vegetables and many essential vitamins and minerals. Each package serves six people, providing 60,000 meals in total! According to 2016 FAO Statistics, 792.5 million people in the world don’t get the food they need. At $0.29 per meal, Rise Against Hunger is making a tremendous difference in fighting malnutrition in developing countries.

Rise Against Hunger’s Mission

Rise Against Hunger is driven by the vision of a world without hunger. Their mission is to end hunger in our lifetime by providing food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable and creating a global commitment to mobilize the necessary resources.

Mini Price Storage was also a sponsor of this very worthwhile event and wishes Rise Against Hunger continued success in their efforts!
