Mini Price Storage wanted to encourage kids to read this summer, so we partnered with the Newport News Library System to distribute bookmarks throughout the community. The bookmarks should be available in a few weeks. We’ll give you an update when they’re released but until then, take a look at what else we’re doing on the Peninsula to promote reading.
We recently visited the Downtown Hampton Child Development Center (DHCDC) as guest readers! During the first week of June Mini Price Storage employees, Angie Broom and Marc Sifen, read to 4-5 year olds boys and girls. It was delightful to see the interaction of the children and how much reading to them influences their lives.
Do you like reading to children? It’s just one way that you can help support DHCDC and make a difference in the development of kids in our community. The DHCDC is a private, non-profit child care center with a mission “to nurture young children by providing affordable, quality preschool programs that develop the ‘whole child’ and foster school readiness”.
