This time of year, we learn about the importance of gathering and giving food to our community. Sadly, many cannot have a proper Thanksgiving meal with their loved ones. Prince William County’s ACTS (Action in Community Through Service) recognizes this need, and the group is holding its annual food drive through its Hunger Prevention Center.
This year’s Share the Bounty Drive, formerly known as Operation Give Thanks, is in full drive now through November 11, and our Prince William team was able to assist by donating many of the much-needed supplies from this list:
- Pie Crust Mix
- Cornbread or Biscuit mix
- Canned vegetables (15oz)
- Instant mashed potatoes
- Can or jar of gravy, or gravy mix packet
- Stuffing Mix
- Broth (canned 15oz)
- Cranberry sauce(canned)
- Yams or sweet potatoes(canned)
- Pumpkin or Fruit Pie filling
- Evaporated Milk
If you want to contribute, head to the ACTS Hunger Prevention Center warehouse at 17958 Dr. David Cline Lane, Dumfries, Virginia. They are open Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 3:30 PM and on Fridays from 9 AM to 1:30 PM. Visit their site for more details.
