If your laundry list gets pushed down to the bottom of your to-do list, it may be time to take a second look at your laundry room setup. If you enjoy the space, you’re in, and you can get a lot more done. No matter what size your laundry room is, it can always use some utilitarian improvements. Full-sized rooms and cut-out nooks can be upgraded with a few simple touches. In addition, there are plenty of ways to raise your laundry room and help you get more done. Here are some of our favorites!
Laundry Room Drying Bar
Having clothes strewn around the home or even folded in piles can be cumbersome to deal with? Install a drying bar next to your machines to keep your laundry in one place. This system can include different racks and an ironing station. A great option is to mount your dryer racks to the wall so they can fold up and give you more space to air dry your items.
Find Secret Storage Spaces
You may not have the space to put as many things as you want in your drying room. But, with an attuned eye, you may have more space than you think. Use a rolling cart with baskets to store your more oversized items than can fit. With magnetic hanging baskets, you can use your machine’s exterior with whatever other fixings you need to clean your clothes.
Personalize Your Room
Many people don’t spend time making their laundry room warm and inviting. This may be why laundry is one of the least liked chores. Come up with a new color scheme and use inviting textures to encourage you to stay and get this chore done.
Invest in DIY Projects
Don’t throw out any DIY ideas just yet. Hang a pegboard to give yourself an excellent option to hang your ironing board and other laundry accessories. You can also build your countertop. If the height is appropriate, you can even make it right on top of your machines without taking up unnecessary space. Even a bookshelf can be an excellent solution for those with low ceilings.
Go Deluxe
If you like luxurious items, it might be time to bring a touch of elegance to your laundry room. First, use large glass jars to store your tide pods, unstoppable laundry beads, and whatever else you need. Then, add a decorative laundry hamper to give it some extra personality.
With some research, any room in your house can be a perfect space for you. Check out our other tips on our blog!
