Neptune 8K Race Presses Forward in 2020

The Neptune Festival’s Boardwalk Weekend has been canceled for the first time since it was created 47 years ago due to COVID. Originally scheduled for this weekend, this festival brought in crowds from all over with a 3-day packed schedule of events. While the sand sculpting competition, Art & Craft Show, Grand Parade, and many other events have been canceled, they have found a way to allow some events like Neptune’s 8K Race.

Neptune’s 8K Race has gone virtual this year to comply with COVID guidelines. They are still holding the race on Saturday, September 26, but if you are unable to complete the race on that day, you have until Sunday, October 4, to finish the race on your own time. Visit their site to register for your finisher medal. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Virginia Beach Lifeguard Association.
