Mini Price Storage is dedicated to the communities we serve. Throughout each year, we create service projects that benefit the Hampton Roads and Richmond, Virginia areas. As this year comes to a close, we want to take a look at some of our favorites events of the year.
Mini Price Storage Joins Junior Achievement!
Before COVID created social distancing, we were lucky enough to participate in the Junior Achievements first grade program. For 5 weeks, we taught first graders in Virginia Beach about the meaning of community and the importance of being educated through high school to get a good job. It was enriching for us to teach these kids and a ton of fun!
Our Richmond Team Lifts Seniors Spirits
COVID has created a very lonely environment for senior citizens. Many are stuck in their nursing homes or assisted living facilities, unable to leave or see their families. The United Way of Greater Richmond created an effort to collect handwritten cards for senior citizens. These cards remind the seniors that they are not alone, and we had a blast making them!
Bark in the Park Is on With Mini Price Storage!
The Chesapeake Humane Society moved their largest annual event, Bark in the Park, to October of this year, and we were lucky enough to sponsor the event. We got to support the animals nearby, and we learned a ton through their weekly education campaigns. This is the second time we have sponsored this event, and we are glad they were able to create such an engaging event during the pandemic.
Richmond Team Donates to YMCA Student Success Centers
We participated in a number of community service activities thanks to the HandsOn Greater Richmond. One favorite is when we participated by creating kits to aid teachers and volunteers in the YMCA Student Success Centers with at-home schooling. This local chapter of the YMCA adapted to this new world and created centers for children to do their school work so that their parents can go to work. We are proud to contribute to such a worthy cause!
