It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, and teachers certainly worked hard this year. COVID provided some unique challenges for our teachers. They work tirelessly to provide for their students, and we wanted to show them that we care. Through the help of Communities in Schools of Richmond, our Broad Street facility donated snacks for teachers and faculty at Fairfield Middle School.
This organization collaborates with local businesses, health care providers, and volunteers to build relationships between communities and their schools. Furthermore, this Communities in Schools is one of 200 branches that make up the nation’s largest and most successful organization to keep kids in school. All of their efforts ultimately seek to support students through their education.
Teacher Appreciation Week, created in 1984, serves to honor those who dedicate their lives to educate our children selflessly. We provided snacks, but there are different ways to celebrate and make your impact today! The National Parent Teacher Alliance distributes resources to make sure our teachers are appreciated during this time. There are stickers, flyers, certificates, thank you cards, and web ads that you can create to do your part. Visit their website, enter your teacher’s name to win sunglasses, and spread the word to make sure everyone feels appreciated this week!
