The Salvation Army Cuts Ribbon to Toy Depot For Christmas Distribution

The Salvation Army Tidewater Area Command held its annual Ribbon Cutting event to celebrate and thank its 2011 Christmas Depot partners.

Thanks to the generous support of Mini Price Storage, United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots, and The Joy Fund, The Salvation Army began Christmas distribution on December 12 at 9:00 a.m. and will serve more than 39,000 individuals in Hampton Roads communities this Christmas season.

The Christmas Depot, Mini Price Storage at 4725 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach will see roughly 1,200 guests a day seeking toys, clothing, and food.

Through its partnerships with The Joy Fund and the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots, The Salvation Army is able to provide more than 19,000 children with toys this Christmas and more than 8,000 families with food.

Distribution to registered families and individuals will run from Monday, December 12 through Monday, December 19 from the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Depot will be closed on Sunday, December 18.
